Q: Who issues Building Permits in Wise County?
A: Wise County does not require general building permits. If you are with an incorporated city or ETJ, contact the City Hall for information. Septic Permits are required, however; contact Public Works at 940-627-9332. Back to Top

 

 

Q: Who do I apply with for Tax exemptions, like homestead or agricultural?
A: All tax exemptions go through the Wise Appraisal District. They can be contacted at 940-627-3081.

Q: I would like to know who owns the Mineral Rights to a piece of Property, how do I find out? I need to update my address or information, who do I contact?
A: All changes to your address or information should go through the Wise Appraisal District. They can be contacted at 940-627-3081. To determine who owns the rights, contact the County Clerk at 940-627-3351. Q: Is it legal to shoot firearms on my property in the county?
A: As long as it is done safely, there are no firearm ordinances or restrictions in the county. City ordinances may vary.
