Our original Explorer patch was put into use
around 1998, when the Post was formed. The design included elements and
colors similar to the Sheriff's Office patch, including the large gold
star (representing the Lone Star State) and red banners, as well as the
Wise County Courthouse. The three red white and blue stars represented
our national colors.
This patch was worn until 2009, when it was
replaced by the new design. Wise County Animal Services now wears a
patch nearly identical to the round patch. |
| We are currently
wanting to trade our old style (round) patches with other Law
Enforcement Explorer Posts. If you would like to trade for one of our
patches, please send an email to

With the reorganization of our Post, it was
decided to come up with a new shoulder patch. The round patch had been
in use for several years, and the county animal control was now also
utilizing the same design. The primary colors of the new patch are black
and gray, which matches our Post uniform (gray shirt and black pants).
Note that the new patch contains the names of the three participating
law enforcement organizations as well as some widely used SWAT/tactical
logos, since one of the highlights of our Post is to train in and attend
area SWAT competitions. |

speed or surprise in tactical or SWAT operations. The Pct 4 Constable and Wise
County Sheriff's Office also incorporate the thunderbolt into their uniform
patch design.
