Current City or County Closures:

Wise County Fairgrounds 

All events for the month of March

City of Rhome

Suspended all meetings and scheduled events for the month of March

Justice of the Peace Courts:

In an effort to protect the community and court staff, our lobbies are closed to the public until further notice. In order to provide service and an efficient judicial system, our clerks remain available to assist you by phone, fax, email and mail. We appreciate your cooperation maintaining social distancing during this COVID-19 State of Disaster.

County Clerk Office:

Property/Vitals Department:

“The Wise County Clerk’s office will begin issuing marriage licenses for Wise County residents only beginning Monday, May 4, 2020. Applicants will be allowed in by appointment only. Call Kim or Michele at (940) 627-3351 to schedule an appointment and for instructions. The office will remain closed to the public until further notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of practicing safety measures for staff and public during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Court Department:

Due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) health concerns effective March 23, 2020 the County Clerk Court Department will be closed to the public. Please call (940) 627-1648 for assistance during regular business hours.

The Veteran Service Office will be available Mon – Fri 0800 – 1200 

There will be one counselor manning the office and answering calls.

All in-person meetings are cancelled until further notice. We will continue to assist in your claims process; however paperwork will be very limited. We suggest reaching out to your counselor via email or call the office 940-627-2470 before heading in.

School related closings and cancelations: 

All Wise County Schools have closed facilities until at least March 30, 2020 and are transitioning to alternative learning delivery.

Faith Based Organizations :

Many local Faith Based Organizations that have suspended in person services as of 3/17/2020, contact your Church for up to date information on closures and cancelations.
